Mummy did not miss out on this either and a plan quickly began to formulate in her mind.

She decided the more people I was introduced to as her baby daughter the more and more difficult it would be for me to return to my old life.  Also as the largest land owner in the region she was a prominent person in the community and knew a lot of people in high places. She also knew once I was introduced to these people my future was sealed.

Being a prominent member of the community she laid plans for me to meet the top people and their families.

She decided as she knew the Chief Constable and his family, several senior Police officers and their families; all the local Magistrates along with their families and many other Senior members of the town councils and local Trading Guild, I would be introduced to them all. Also unbeknown to most in the area, mummy was the Head Mason of the regional Masons lodge.

All this she decided would be enough to protect her little baby should I ever stray or get lost. She was determined everyone would know me and if ever I was found wandering she knew I would be returned to her. However with all the ‘safety’ that had been installed at home that could never happen.

She decided there and then it was time to arrange for my debut.

We finally arrived at Scoots whereupon mummy headed straight for the pharmacy to get the prescription made up and asked the pharmacist if it would be alright to leave me near the counter while she did some other shopping. The pharmacist replied ‘Of course Mrs. Inglish we will keep an eye on her for you’. Mummy folded the apron back, lowered the hood of my carrycot so I could look around, but mainly so that I would be seen more easily. With that done Mummy went to do her shopping.

When she returned several elderly ladies were gathered around my carrycot cooing and ahhing over me.

Mummy went to the counter to get the prescription and pay for her shopping. When the pharmacist arrived she looked at mummy and said ‘quite the little crowd puller isn’t she?’  Mummy replied ‘I think all babies are’ but inwardly she smiled as it was more exposure and she knew I would be afraid to speak so the bonds were getting ever stronger.

It turned out mummy had purchased two packs of thick disposable nappies, a changing mat, four more tins of formula, more zinc and castor oil cream, more baby powder plus two large pink bottles of baby lotion.

With everything paid for and safely stored in the shelf beneath my cot she prepared to leave.

Outside the rain had now become very heavy and mummy had to rush as much as she could as her coat was only meant to be shower proof and she still needed to call at the greengrocers to order the vegetables chef wanted delivering.

By the time we returned to the car mummy was soaking wet and she rushed to get me inside first, then the shopping and wheels and finally herself.

By now the rain was almost torrential and instead of taking only twenty minutes to get home, this time it took almost forty.

Mummy was not only wet but quite exhausted by the time we reached home and parked the car as close to the house door as possible.

As she was about to get out of the car Cherie opened the house door wearing a raincoat with a hood but also carrying an umbrella to protect mummy. Following Cherie was Charlie who called out for mummy to get indoors as they would carry me and the shopping in the house.

Once everything was indoors Cherie helped mummy to remove her soaked coat and putting it on a coat hanger hung it over a radiator in the wash room to dry.

When she returned mummy asked Cherie if she would make me a bottle up so mummy could feed me.

Cherie responded ‘Madam, I think it would be wiser if you left Terri with me and got yourself out of your wet clothes and into a nice warm bath’. Mummy thanked Cherie and did exactly that.

In the meantime Charlie had prepared my bottle and added a little spot of honey to it saying ‘it may be my last bottle for two days’. Cherie replied ‘poor sweet I do not know about our little Terri here but even I am not looking forward to the next two days’. Charlie agreed.

Cherie then sat down and taking the bottle from Charlie commenced to feed me.

Meanwhile mummy had removed her wet clothes and was soaking in a nice warm perfumed bath soaking the day away.

After she had bathed and dressed she returned to the kitchen where Charlie informed her, a large package had arrived while she was out and that there was a nice hot cup of tea for her.

‘That, hopefully it is Teresa’s bassinette’.

Both Cherie and Charlie looked at mummy with a puzzled look on their faces. ‘Teresa madam’ said Cheri. ‘Yes dear, the proper version of Terri and as sweet as my little baby is’. ‘Does she know?’ asked Charlie. ‘Not yet’ replied mummy. ‘When will she learn?’ asked Cherie. ‘When she is christened, you see I found out during my enquiries my little baby has never been christened and I intend to correct that’.

‘Oh wow!’ the other two replied in harmony.

Once she finished her tea mummy went to open the parcel that had arrived and sure enough it was ‘my’ bassinette.

In no time at all it was assembled next to mummy’s bed and Cherie just looked and said ‘THAT is gorgeous’. Mummy replied, ‘yes, I fell in love with it the instant I saw it’.

It was in white with miles and miles of pink lace adorning it. It was complete with a satin pillow also in pink and white, a satin blanket to match and finally a cover which matched the bassinette when it comes to the frills. It had its own hood and was also mounted in the frame on suspension so it could be gently rocked.

Charlie looked and commented ‘this has to be the luckiest person alive, a loving mother and now adorned with all these beautiful gifts, I just hope she is as happy  with her new life as you obviously are madam’.

Mummy just replied ‘we will have to make that happen Charlie but the next two days are going to be painful for all of us I’m afraid’. Cherie said ‘we are here too madam and we both want to see her happy, I just hope it won’t be too painful for Teresa’.

Mummy then said that I could have my usual six o’clock, ten o’clock and two am bottles but that will be the last until the purging is finished, which she told them would commence with my six am bottle. She also said I would be sleeping in the bassinette for those two nights at least.

She also outlined how things were go to happen. Firstly she would have a pack of disposable nappies and the new changing mat she had purchased from Scoots that very day in her bedroom, so she told Cherie she would want the nappy bin with the sealable lid there too. Also she would have the cream and powder. This all being so she could change me quickly and keep the soreness I will definitely have to a minimum.

And, so it was all sorted and organised. Cherie then said ‘Madam can’t we help in any way so you too can get some sleep’. Mummy replied ‘Look after the house for me dear, Oh and Charlie while I remember your vegetables will arrive early tomorrow morning’.

At six pm mummy took me to my nursery, removed all my clothes and bathed me, after which she put a clean nappy on me, a little babies nightdress then gave me my bottle.

Then I was placed in my bassinette ready for the next day

I was given my two night time bottles and before I knew it, it was morning and my torture was about to begin.

First thing mummy did was to take me to my nursery and bathe me, after which she dressed me. But instead of my thick fluffy Terry nappies she put one of the thick disposable ones on me, she also made sure to use plenty of the zinc and castor oil cream and powder as she knew I was soon going to be really sore around my bottom. This was followed by a pair of plastic panties and a little dress bootees, bonnet and mittens. Also she placed a harness on me because her thinking was I would be weakened by the purging so she planned to leave me in my pram most of the day.

Then the time finally arrived and I was taken to the dining room and given my bottle with the first day purgative in. Cherie had prepared it in some milk and a little bit of honey saying to mummy it would help keep my strength up.

It took about twenty minutes for the solution to take effect and I had quite a violent bout of wind concluding in a very soiled nappy. All in all this happened sixteen times in day one; I was sore miserable and spent a lot of time crying.

At night mummy was awake with me all the time and so she never got any sleep. The following morning the procedure was repeated, however the purgative this time was not as strong and throughout the day I only used 7 nappies.

Mummy also had a second night awake with me but she did notice now I was drying up and my nappies were no longer being fouled; only urine was passing now.

For two days and two nights mummy had cradled me in her arms and was quite exhausted, but when it came time for my first bottle on day three with normal formula Cherie and Charlie were in the kitchen and said to mummy ‘why don’t you rest now, we can look after Terri, you must be exhausted’.

Still sobbing because of the soreness mummy agreed with Cherie, thanked her and passed me to her, then went to have some rest. The worst was now over.

Before leaving however mummy did say to Cherie ‘put her back in Terry nappies dear, I am sure she will be happier and more comfy in them and use plenty of cream she is red raw around her little bottom’. My thought at the time was I wish I had never seen nappies.

Gently cradling me in her arms Cherie turned to Charlie and said ‘can you make up two bottles for her with honey in both, also mix her Ready Brek, poor little mite must be starving. I will take her and change her’.

Cherie then turned and carried me to my nursery where she intended to give me a bath; but when she saw how red and sore my bottom was she decided not to sit me in the water but use a soft wash cloth and gently wash me instead.

As with the previous two days she washed my nappy area with anti bacterial soap (which she also used for my hands) while the rest of me was washed with baby soap.

After gently patting me dry she laid me on the changing table and put the safety strap across me while she folded my nappies and prepared the cream and powder. She then raised my legs in the air and slid the nappies under me and followed this with a liberal coating of zinc and castor oil cream and a generous powdering.

Leaving me strapped to the changing table Cherie then went to the sets of drawers and took out a little vest, bootees and mittens placing them on the changing tables shelf she just looked at me and said ‘today sweetheart we are going to make you especially pretty for when your mommy wakes up’.

Going to the wardrobe she picked out a peach coloured dress with high waist, the petticoats for it and also matching Rumba panties and bonnet.

The dress was one of mummy’s creations and was very tastefully trimmed without being outrageous but also very feminine.

By itself the dress just hung limp on its hanger because it was of such fine fabric, sheer and almost without weight the petticoats would have no difficulties making it stand out almost horizontal. It was also very short so the pretty panties could be seen as part of the ensemble. The panties and bonnet were white with peach lace to match the dress, while the dress itself had little white highlights and so overall the clothes complimented each other.

Once Cherie had everything she needed close by she released the strap holding me to the changing table, sat me up and put the little vest on me doing up the two buttons at the back as before.

However instead of dressing me at this point she removed the mittens I was still wearing, then the bandages and the lint pad. She now gently bathed my hands and likewise patted them dry.  This done she reapplied some of the cream Dr. Stone had prescribed, and following the doctors instructions, gently folded my thumbs into my palms, placed another thick lint pad over the whole area and commenced bandaging them again. Taking care to fold the ends as they were shown to cover the finger ends.

‘There sweetheart’ she cooed, ‘now we can get you dressed all pretty and take you for your bottles and breakfast and then you will be all settled and looking pretty for when mummy wakes up’.

It was with extreme care and gentleness that Cherie dressed me wanting not to hurt me anymore but looking my absolute prettiest for mommy, however she did leave my bonnet off but said she would put my harness on me as I must be tired and she would lay me in my pram for a sleep after feeding me.

When we arrived in the kitchen Charlie looked and just said ‘Well, if that isn’t the prettiest picture I have ever seen’, smiled and told Cherie my bottles were ready and he would heat the Ready Brek as soon as she was ready.

I never saw my Ready Brek that morning because even before I had half finished my second bottle I was falling asleep. Cherie then took me from my high chair to my pram, put the clips on my harness and raised the hood leaving me to my little baby’s dreams.

After only approximately two hours Cherie came running in to me as I was crying. She was about to ask what was wrong when she could smell the problem. I had passed wind but also passed a very liquid poo.  Not only was it uncomfortable but I realised I had passed it involuntarily meaning I had lost control of my bowel so soon and would have to wear nappies perhaps forever. That fact alone was the real reason for my crying.

Cherie took me to my nursery once more and speedily changed my nappies, but as she was about to take me back to my pram mummy who had woken up to my crying walked in.

Is Terri alright?’ asked mommy. Cherie replied ‘Still sore, tired and a little startled I think, she has just had her first baby poo’. Both had a little laugh at this. Cherie also pointed out the as my poo was now so runny we really should get some Nappy liners to keep as much moisture away from the skin as possible.

Mummy replied ‘D**n, I knew there was something else while I was in town, I will go into town a little later and get some. I need to call in and see the Rev. Peterson about a Christening.’

Cherie then passed me to mummy who then carried me to the kitchen where she sat down at the table with me still in her arms. She turned to Charlie and said ‘Is my little baby’s brekky ready Charlie?’  ‘Two minutes madam’, he replied.
Cherie then approached mummy saying ‘would you like me to put her in her high chair?’ to which mummy said ‘No, I think my little one deserves some special attention after the last two days, I will feed her in my lap’. Cherie then went to get a bib for me and placed it about me to protect my pretty dress.
Charlie placed my breakfast and a plastic spoon on the table in front mummy who then commenced to feed me. While doing so she told Cherie to make a bottle for me with my new medicine, Cherie took one of the muscle relaxants from the packet, broke it in half then crushed it up fine to mix in with my formula.
Once I had finished my Ready Brek mummy continued nursing me in her arms while she then gave me my bottle while looking at Cherie and Charlie telling them this would soon take away all my tensions and let me relax into my new life.
After finishing my bottle mummy took me into the lounge and placed me in my playpen. Once the gate to the playpen was closed mummy then tugged it to ensure the catch was properly closed and I would be safe. In the meantime Cherie had gone to my nursery to get the bonnet that matched the dress and upon returning handed it to mummy saying ‘I thought perhaps you would like to put this on her too’.
‘What a good idea’ mummy said. ‘Then when the medicine has worked we will take some pictures of her in her first pretty dress’.  Mummy came over to me and placed the bonnet on my head tying it with a large bow and carefully placing the remaining ribbon nice and prettily down the bodice of my dress. The bonnet was not the style which has a funnel type of peak, this one when in place had one that was more like a halo around the face. Looking at me once it was in place mummy just turned to Cherie and Charlie who had arrived to see and said ‘see how tiny it makes her face look; so sweet’. Both Cherie and Charlie agreed. Mummy then said she was going to fetch her digital camera.
It took about twenty minutes for the medicine to take effect and the first visible signs mummy spotted was the poor co-ordination I was showing with my arms and legs. Next she noticed I was now sitting more relaxed and not holding myself stiff anymore. When I tried to reach for or play with a toy it was noticeable that my efforts were now more baby like. Because of the bandages and mittens on my hands I was unable to grasp the bars of my playpen to try and stand, but later when I was allowed out of it mummy noticed when standing with her assistance I now stood wide legged due to the nappies and with the unsteady balance of a baby first learning to walk.
All these effects pleased her immensely as it made me appear more and more the baby she wanted. She was however impatient knowing the hormones would take a few months to seal my fate forever and give me the total baby girl look she desired.
After satisfying herself the medicine had worked she called Cherie and Charlie in to show me off, but also to take some pictures.
Altogether about twenty were taken. Some with each person holding me, then some of me sitting on a lamb’s wool rug by myself, but every one of the pictures showed my pretty panties off along with the fact I was wearing thick nappies.
The pictures were duly processed through mummy’s computer and some prints made. Cherie and Charlie each got a set and mummy said if they wanted frames she would pick some up while she was in town. Both Cherie and Charlie asked for two so they could put the picture of them holding me and also the one of me by myself.
Although this was my fourth day in nappies and dresses mummy called it day one of my new life.
I was certainly now used to nappy changes, twenty three of them in the previous two days assured that, but now I had to get used to pretty dresses with petticoats etc. Mummy had made it quite plain to Cherie when she dressed me it was to be my finest at all times unless; I was taken to my play area in the back garden. Then it would be either a sundress or a Satin Romper. But as she pointed out, that area had yet to be done and would not be so until the springtime.
It was now about eleven am and mummy said she was going into town and would be about two hours.  She then asked Cherie if she would put me in my carrycot in the car as she would be taking me too.
Cherie took me to my nursery where she put a warm matinee coat and white baby tights on me followed by a harness. Then she took me to my carrycot in mummy’s car. She also placed a bag with spare nappies, panties, cream and powder on the back seat in case mummy should need them.
When we arrived in town the first stop was to see the Rev. Peterson and arrange my christening. Mummy explained everything about me and he said he would be only too happy to perform this and as it was my true christening she could choose any names for me, masculine or feminine. Mummy and he commenced to make the arrangements for the following Sunday; three days away.
He came over to my carrycot and looking in said to mummy ‘pretty little thing isn’t she, I assume the dress is one of your creations’ to which mummy replied ‘correct on both points’ and they had a chuckle.
Leaving the Vestry mummy proceeded to town where firstly she called in to H. W. Wiffs stationers and purchased the requested picture frame the on to Scoots the chemists for my nappy liners.
Once again she left me by the pharmacy counter totally exposed, as in hood down, blanket off.
This time however, due to my ‘medicine’ I appeared more baby like than ever and the ladies were cooing all over me again. Mummy was once again giving me maximum exposure.
When mummy returned to me I was crying and crying. This time not from embarrassment but from frustration at not being able to scream out I AM NOT A BABY.  But i was too far down the line for that now.
Of course the fact I was crying and my little sing song voice only convinced people more I am a little baby.
I think at this point I should mention, readers may notice at time I shift from past to present text. This is purely because I am relating history and trying to bring you up to date, hence using two time definitions.
Things like my feed, clothes, pram etc were and ARE still; so belong in both parts of my new life.

Once mummy had purchased my nappy liners and a stock of zinc and castor oil cream she placed my blanket over me followed by the carrycots apron then returned to her car.

Before putting me and my cot in the car, she opened the back door and put two stickers, one each side of the rear window. It was not until she placed me in the car and dropped the hood to my carrycot I saw what they were. She had placed ‘BABY ON BOARD’ stickers there. She got in the car herself and drove us home.

Once home, the first thing she did was to remove my dress and petticoat, then change my wet nappy, and, as it was now two thirty she decided it was nap time for me. So she dressed me in a little nightdress and my harness, took me back to the kitchen where Cherie had made a bottle for me and fed me.

Mummy asked Charlie to fetch the two packages from the car saying the picture frames they asked for are in one of them.

While mummy was feeding me Cherie asked if she had managed to arrange my christening and mummy told her it was to be held the Sunday before Christmas. Cherie looked and smiled and said ‘how sweet, a Christmas baby’.

Once I had finished my bottle, mummy replaced my dummy in my mouth and took me to my pram where she laid me down, attached the clips to my harness, covered me with a blanket and finally raised the hood to let me sleep.

Mummy returned to the kitchen to have herself a cup of tea and said to Cherie and Charlie, ‘You know that the charity dinner/dance I organise each year in aid of the children’s home is in two weeks; well, that is going to be my little Teresa May’s debut. Everybody who is anybody in this community will be there’.

As mummy always invites her managers and families, also Cheri and Charlie she said to them that she would arrange for a nanny that day so that they could have a nice time too. Cherie became quite agitated at this and said to mummy ‘I am not sure that is such a good idea madam, it could be a little stressful for Teresa and to be looked after by a stranger could be quite distressing for her’.

‘I don’t see any alternative’ mummy replied.

‘I will look after her’, Cherie replied.

‘But that will spoil your evening dear’, said mummy.

‘Not at all madam, I will love doing it and we will be certain she knows who is looking after her, after all she is going to meet an awful lot of strangers that night and one more may be just too much for her’.

‘Alright dear’, mummy said ‘If you are sure and I am sure you are right. I will try and make it up to you somehow soon’.

Charlie then muttered ‘Teresa May, a pretty name for a pretty baby’.

Both mummy and Cherie looked at him and chuckled, surprised by his statement.

After my sleep, I awoke and started crying which made mummy come in to see what was wrong, but as she came closer she just said ‘Oh poo, who has made a stinky then?’ picked me up and took me to my nursery to be cleaned and have my nappies changed.

I wasn’t crying so much because I had soiled my nappy, but because I had been unable to stop myself. From continent to incontinent in just four days was quite frightening, especially when one recalls what Dr. Stone had said to mummy about the longer I am on this diet the harder it will be to go back to solids and potty train again.

The doctor had also told mummy that the longer I was on this diet the more my tummy would shrink making solids virtually impossible for me to digest; but also I would lose some weight. ‘Nothing dangerous’ she said. Also; the Oestrogen will not only give me a softer skin texture but also round my muscle tone out making me a little chubbier and more baby like.

When mummy finished, I was wearing instead of a dress, a white satin romper of mummies design. I had two teddy bears embroidered on the bodice and little lacy edges at the leg and arm hems.

She carried me downstairs, once again going through the safety gates and put me in my playpen.

Carefully checking the gate was properly closed she put a DVD on for me to watch.

Mummy then returned to the kitchen and explained to Cherie and Charlie the outline for the next two days.

Because I had had so much stress and so many changes to my life over the last four days, the next two (Friday and Saturday) were to be quiet days. I would be in my romper suits and left in my playpen except for feeds and naps of course.

Mummy also explained it would give her chance to catch up on farm business before the weekly meeting with Ted.

Friday arrived and as promised it was a very quiet day for me other than my usual baby routines.

Saturday arrived and once again I had my dirty nappies removed and bathed. Clean nappies and panties put on but this time a dress too.

Mummy explained ‘Uncle Ted’ was coming for their weekly meeting but also his wife too, so she wanted me looking pretty.

She then took me down to the kitchen, but this time put me in my highchair, put my bib on me and fed me whilst having her own breakfast. She let Cherie give me my bottle while she finished her own breakfast.

Once I had finished my bottle, Cherie cleaned me and took me to my playpen and calling mummy asked if she should put the TV on for me. Mummy said ‘yes’ and I was then left to watch Teletubbies and such on the Cbeebies channel.

Mummy then busied herself with farm business while Cherie and Charlie went about their duties and before anyone knew it, it was ten AM and Ted arrived with his wife.

Mummy greeted them and Ted’s wife said ‘where is she, I have been longing to see her’. Mummy bought her into the lounge and to my surprise and a little horror it was Betty, the lady I worked next to in the bulb shed.

Betty looked and said ‘Awwwwww, what a pretty little thing, I knew she did not belong in that bulb shed. She belongs right where she is’. She then looked at mummy and said ‘may I hold her?’ and mummy replied ‘of course, you cared for her in the bulb shed for me’.

Picking me up from my playpen Betty just looked at me and said ‘sweetheart you are so lucky having the loving mummy you have and you are the prettiest baby girl too’.

It turned out mummy had asked Ted if Betty would do four days in the bulb shed to watch me’. Of course Ted had arranged with the shed foreman for Betty to be sat next to me. Betty had agreed but when she saw my hands on the second morning, and the fact I could not break a small chocolate bar into pieces she knew I had to be taken from there and hence I arrived at the Big House two and a half days early.

While Betty was fussing over me and playing making me giggle I realised how comfortable I now felt with her. I was no longer embarrassed.

Mummy and Ted went over all the farm details of things done, things to do etc. and when finished said to Ted ‘I want to take Teresa to church on Sunday, but, I do not want to take her in her carrycot. I would rather she be in her pram. Can you help please?’

Ted replied ‘I could use the farms mini-bus to take Betty and the two girls too which would allow me to remove the back seats to make room to carry the pram for you. BUT, he said I would advise that you take her to church in her carrycot and change her to her pram once there’.

‘Would you mind doing that?’ mummy asked.  â€˜Be a pleasure, I will pick the pram up Sunday on the way to church’ Ted replied.

Mummy smiled and looked at the clock; she tanked Ted for sorting the pram problem out and said it was my feed time.

Ted the surprised everyone by saying ‘Perhaps I am out of order but, it has been many years since I had a baby in my arms and gave her, her bottle. Would you allow me please?’

Mummy looking surprised too, said ‘well of course Ted if you wish’.

Taking me from Betty’s arms into his own and cradling me as he did in the bulb shed I once more felt that affection a parent gives a child and was this time comfortable. Cherie arrived with my bottle and Ted quite deftly with his little finger removed my dummy teat to replace it with the teat of my bottle. I instantly began to suc-kle feeling neither embarrassment nor humility but a strange euphoria settled about me.

Betty looked at mummy and said ‘Well Teresa has certainly taken to Ted’. And mummy explained what had happened that day in the bulb shed when I was hysterical.

Betty simply said ‘He was always good with our girls too, a natural’.

When my bottle was almost empty Ted asked for a towel and when it arrived Betty knew what would happen. Ted asked for it to be placed over his shoulder.

Once my bottle my bottle was empty he handed it to mummy then before lifting me to his shoulder gently rubbed my back for a moment.

Betty looked at mummy and said ‘watch this’.

Ted then lifted me so I was looking over his should and again gently rubbed my back and patted it. With a minute I gave a great big burp, threw up a little milk and was turned around to have my face cleaned.

Ted then replaced my dummy (which was still on his little finger) and cradled me in his arms once more. Gently rocking me I was asleep in minutes.

This six foot two inch muscular man was truly a gentle giant.

He nursed me for a few minutes longer then passed me to mummy so she could put me in my pram and strangely even when putting my harness on me I never woke up. All I knew was when I did awake I was in my pram and not Uncle Ted’s caring arms.

So, what had apparently started as a very embarrassing day actually was about the best day of my new life.

When mummy came in to me the first thing she did was to check my nappies and true to form I was wet.
Unclipping my harness she carried me to the nursery once again where she cleaned me and once again coated my nappy area with zinc and castor oil cream and a generous coating of baby powder causing a little cloud of it to waft into the air spreading its delicate perfume around.
She replaced my nappies and plastic panties, but this time they were plain pink ones, not the rumba ones I had on before. This was because she was putting me back in to my satin romper so I could play for a little while before dinner (as in evening meal).
This time however instead of putting me in my playpen she placed me on the floor of the lounge, gave me my pink bunny rabbit while she sat in her favourite armchair and watched me (with a huge warm smile on her face) crawl around. When with the aid of the sofa I tried to stand it was a true baby attempt. My legs were all akimbo and wobbly; until I finally plopped down on to my padded bottom.
In what appeared to be no time at all, Cherie entered the room and told mummy dinner was being served. With that mummy picked me up and carried me to my highchair.
Once again Charlie had taken some vegetables, a little drop of gravy and some meat, placed them all in a blender and pureed it for me.
Cherie placed the bowl on the tray of my highchair along with a pink plastic spoon and asked mummy if she would like her to feed me while she dined.
By now the muscle relaxant (my medicine) I was being given was beginning to have full effect. Whilst feeding me Cherie noticed my mouth coordination was slow and a little erratic causing me to spill some of my food down my bib. She pointed this out to mummy who just smiled and said ‘All BABIES do that dear’. But inwardly she was pleased; yet another step towards total babyhood.
What no-one had thought about was the fact that the tongue is simply a muscle and it too had been affected, and when I went to complain about what was happening to me all that came out was baby like gibberish and with my sing song voice really sounded totally infantile. To my horror and everyone’s joy, I was unable to speak in an adult manner anymore. I simply could not get my tongue to shape words any more.
At this point I just burst out crying and refused to eat anymore of my dinner.
This naturally upset everyone and in a matter of second’s mummy had me out of my highchair and was rocking me in her arms trying to calm me and assure me everything was going to be perfectly alright and not to worry. She was going to look after me and everyone loved me. Then she looked at me and said ‘you like your Auntie Cherie and Uncle Charlie don’t you? Then there is your Uncle Ted and Aunty Molly, look at how Uncle Ted was really nice to you’.
Of course, even if I could have shaped the words I could not argue with what mummy had said to me and gradually began to calm down. Once I was settled once more Mummy replaced me in my highchair and said to me ‘now be a good girl and finish your din dins for Auntie Cherie, then mummy will give you your nice bottle’.
My mind was in turmoil at being unable to speak but I did manage to finish my dinner, albeit with a lot of it now down my bib.
Once I had finished Cherie got a damp cloth to clean my face and then sat to have her dinner.
Mummy took me from my highchair and got my bottle from the bottle warmer; she then took me into the lounge where she sat and gave me my bottle.
As I was drinking mummy then told me I should not worry about only being able to talk baby-talk because I didn’t need any more than that and people would know I was only a little baby. She told me how cute it made me and that only grown-ups needed to talk. Also she would be making ALL my decisions for me, so why did I NEED to talk anymore. She then pointed out that all I need to be able to do is giggle when I am happy and cry if I am poorly or need my nappies changing. She then pointed out that all everyone wanted was for me to be happy and have lots of smiles for everyone.
I could understand mummy’s logic but was still frightened about it.
When I had finished my bottle and before mummy replaced my dummy in my mouth she said ‘Now sweetheart, can I see one of those pretty little smiles....pretty please?’ and without any hesitation whatsoever I gave her a big smile. ‘Now isn’t that better?’ she said. She then proceeded to wind me; after which she gave me my dummy and put me in my playpen while she went to have a word with Cherie and Charlie.
Once in the kitchen she explained to Cherie and Charlie that now the muscle relaxant had worked so well the dose could be halved so as to maintain the condition but not increase it. Also that tomorrow (Sunday) was full medicine day so the Anti Androgen and Oestrogen should be added to my bottle too.
She then told Cherie about Ted collecting my pram and taking it to church so her and mummy would need to make sure everything was ready so all he had to do was collect it.
Cherie asked if she wanted a harness putting in my pram and mummy said no as I would be wearing one as I would be travelling in my carrycot. She then went on to explain that she wanted me in a thicker nappy as we could be quite a long time. Mummy suggested double soakers to which Cherie agreed.
Charlie said in a jovial manner ‘She will well bundled up’. And they all had a laugh.
Another thing mummy told them was that she expected the vicar to announce my forthcoming christening.
Cherie then asked ‘will she be in her pram during the service?’ mummy replied ‘no, I will cradle her to keep the stress down for her. A lot of things have happened to her over the last week and she must be confused so I want to keep things as easy as possible for her’. Mummy then went on to say ‘Also when we make her last bottle before she is put down tonight, add one quarter of a tablet of the sedative, this will ensure a good night’s rest for her’.
Once she had explained all the arrangements mummy returned to me in the lounge. Firstly she switched the television on, and then she opened the gate to my playpen, lifted me out and sitting down in her chair she cradled me in her arms and quietly hummed little nursery rhymes. She realised that after finding out I could no longer talk properly my stress levels must be high and I would need a lot more attention for a while at least to build my confidence and trust in everyone, especially mummy. Mummy also decided she was going to spend a lot more time forming a mother baby bond. Her thinking being that it would make me more comfortable in my new life and slip into full baby mode a lot quicker. She wanted me to be a full baby with no means of returning to an adult way of life; reminding herself of what Ted and Betty had said about me not belonging in an adult world and should be looked after and live as a little baby for all time. A thought mummy cherished.
Seven PM arrived as did Cherie with my last bottle for the day telling mummy my medicine was in the bottle too. Mummy then told Cherie I would be spending my first night in my cot so would she please ensure the baby monitor was working and clip it to the side of my cot. Mummy then settled into giving me my bottle.
After my bottle I was carried to my nursery where my nappy was changed for night time ones. Mummy also told Cherie, no harness this time I want to see if she can sleep on her back without it in her cot. So, I was laid in my cot, given my pink bunny rabbit and tucked in. Mummy raised the side to my cot and was beaming when she turned to Cherie and said ‘Isn’t she the cutest little darling. I have my way she will never grow up’.
The sedative quickly took hold and very soon I was sleeping and dreaming little baby dreams again.

There is no part 13 just 12a.

Sunday morning arrived and mummy entered my nursery looking all nice and fresh.

‘Come along sweetheart’ she said, ‘time to get you into your Sunday finery’.

With that she dropped the side of my cot, lifted me onto the changing table and began to undress me.

First, my little nightdress and she then said ‘Phewwww!! Who is little pongy one then?’ and laughed. She then removed my plastic panties and heavily soiled and wet nappy, placed them in the awaiting nappy bin and then proceeded to fill my baby bath with warm water.

I was placed in the baby bath with mummy supporting me with a firm hand at my back. Using her other hand she gently bathed me and whilst washing my hair said ‘it is time we had this shaped properly darling’. (I hadn’t looked after it from leaving the centre to being mummy’s little baby, so it was getting long).

During my bath and hair wash mummy had only used high quality Johnson and Johnson products as always; and, as usual when I was dried I smelled baby anyway without any other products. I had been washed, bathed and shampooed in nothing else and it must now be in my skin, I had to smell of baby all the time now.

Mummy then towel dried my hair as gently as she could and while it was still damp brushed it to remove cots and tangles. Then she took it back into a ponytail.

Next, she lay me down and strapped me to my changing table. I was then treated to a whole body baby oiling and felt wonderful.

This of course was followed by my usual zinc and castor oil treatment in my nappy area, followed by a good powdering.

Next; she put the special nappy arrangement on me. The two soaker’s, mummy had decided they would be side by side. So she folded two nappies into rectangles for soakers and two into kite shapes as covers.

When these were pinned safely into place I felt as if I was doing the splits. I knew I had absolutely no chance of walking and doubted even if I would be able to crawl.

Over these she placed a clear pair of clear plastic panties, and after checking we were all tucked in safely they were followed by a pair of white knitted baby tights. Mummy then put a little baby’s vest on me, did the little buttons on the shoulder up, thus closing the round neckline and said ‘right pet, let’s get your hair dry and looking nice’.

The changing table, like my pram had a section in the base that could be raised to support me in the sitting position, Mummy raised this so she could dry and brush my hair.

Mummy then began blow drying my hair and carefully brushing it out. I felt like I was in heaven.

I think it was at this point I began to think how lucky I was and how true the words of others about coping in a grown up world were. I contentedly suc-ked on my dummy.

Mummy had finished drying my hair but was brushing and under brushing it making it all fluffy and shiny when Cherie walked into the nursery.

Cherie then asked mummy if she would like her to finish getting me ready for church while she went and had her breakfast.

Mummy thank her and explained my out for the day and reminded her that it would be the white baby harness today and could she make sure there were no little dirty spots showing. Mummy then left leaving Cherie to finish dressing me.

My ensemble for the day consisted of a three layer white organza and chiffon petticoat, a white satin dress with a deep Peter Pan style collar made with fine Nottingham lace. The cuffs of the (almost elbow length) sleeves and the hem of the skirt were also trimmed in the same style lace. Next Cherie went to one of the drawers in my wardrobe and removed a set of bootees and mittens. These too were padded white satin and again trimmed with Nottingham lace. Finally after closely checking it was spotless Cherie put my harness upon me saying with a little laugh that I looked like a little snowball.

Before taking me down for my breakfast she once again gently brushed my hair to make it look as pretty as possible as at this point I was not wearing a bonnet.

Picking me up and then negotiating all the ‘safety’ hazards she took me down to the kitchen for my breakfast; but as we passed through the door both mummy and Charlie looked and huge smiles came over their faces and all mummy could say was ‘Ohhhh yes’.

I was then placed in my highchair a bib carefully placed around my neck and over my dress, then slowly (so as to make no mess) given my breakfast.

After finishing my cereal; mummy took me from my highchair, picked up my bottle of formula and carried me into the lounge where she proceed to give me my bottle.

In the meantime Cherie and Charlie quickly cleared the pots away and then went to get changed for church.

When Cherie returned she arrived carrying the bonnet to match my ensemble. This too was in white satin but instead of a peak style mummy had trimmed the front with starched Nottingham lace to once again form a halo effect around the face. Mummy always said it made my face look more petite.

Cherie then took me from mummy which then allowed mummy to go and get ready for church.

Mummy had just finished getting ready when there was a knock at the door and in walked Uncle Ted, Aunty Molly followed closely by their twin teenage daughter Rebecca and Amanda.

Molly looked at mummy and said ‘the girls have been itching to come over and see Teresa’. Mummy just looked at them and said ‘she is in the lounge with Cherie’. Like two bullets from a high powered gun they left the kitchen and came straight to the lounge.

Once they spotted me it ‘Ohh, how pretty, she is gorgeous’. Then they were all over my dress and the rest of my outfit saying how lovely it looked, asking Cherie ‘is this one of Mrs. Inglish’s creations?’ Cherie confirmed that it was and one of the girls said ‘she is so talented’.

At this point mummy Uncle Ted and Aunty Molly entered the lounge and as soon as Aunty Molly spotted me she looked at Ted and said we have to have a picture of this, she is gorgeous.

Uncle Ted then broke the spell and said ‘right, I think it is time we got the pram in the mini-bus’. Which he and Charlie did; but not until mummy had double checked the blankets and other pram accessories for me.

Once the pram was in the bus Charlie then started the car engine and turned the heater on so as to warm the car.

Once the warm air was circulating in the car mummy carried me and put me in the carrycot ensuring my harness was properly clipped in. She then put a baby blanket over me followed by a satin quilt style cover.

Uncle Ted had already left by the time we left. He wanted to get to the church and be ready to get my prom out of the bus as soon as we arrived, but he kept the heater running to keep the pram warm.

Once we arrived at church Uncle Ted quickly took my pram from the back of the bus and passed the handles to Aunty Molly who then (followed closely by the twins) wheeled it to mummy’s car and I was quickly taken from my carrycot to my pram.

Again the procedure was, attach harness first and as it was relatively mild mummy said just the satin cover would be enough as long as the prams hood was raised.

This cheered as she knew she could swiftly fold the cover back showing everyone my outfit including the fact I was wearing thick nappies.

Of course, once again mummy had used her cunning and we arrived at the church approximately twenty earlier than usual. This would give all the ladies waiting to go in a chance to see me, and when one looks I had quite an entourage wanting to show me off, but none more than mummy.

Mummy’s ploy work brilliantly, virtually every lady came over to coo over mummy’s new baby and the wonderful clothes I was wearing.

My fate just needed one more seal to make my fate inescapable and that was not very far away.

A few minutes before the service was due to start mummy wheeled me into church but decided to leave my pram at the rear of the church.
Passing a pram blanket to Cherie she said to her ‘look after this dear, churches never are over warm so we may need it’. Mummy had decided to nurse me through the service.
Being a regular at the church mummy usually got a front pew.
As the vicar entered and the service was about to begin he looked around and said to the congregation ‘Ladies and gentlemen I wish to take this opportunity to welcome our newest member of the congregation; young Teresa May Inglish whom I will have the pleasure in welcoming her to Gods flock when I christen her on December twenty third here in this church.
He then proceeded to carry out the service.
I think at this point the vicar had delivered the final seal to my fate; I would always be a baby girl to everyone now no matter what happened.
Despite wetting and soiling my nappy during the service I refused to cry and draw more attention to myself. However mummy knew what had happened and to stop me getting cold because of it she took the blanket from Cherie and wrapped me in it.
Fortunately it happened near the end of the service.
When the service was over and mummy was putting me back in my pram she left me wrapped in my blanket and then placed the satin cover over me because the weather had deteriorated and it was bitter cold outside, she also decided to put the all weather cover on after raising the front of the prams apron in front of the hood.
It was at this time Aunty Molly came over and invited everyone to Sunday lunch.
Mummy accepted but said we would have to call home to change me and get some spare nappies, but Aunty Molly said ‘not to bother as everything had been sorted at their home’.
While mummy and Cherie fussed over me to ensure I remained warm, Charlie and Uncle Ted went to the vehicles to start the engines and warm them up.
When mummy was about to leave church to go to the car several people came across to chat to her but mummy politely said she could not stop due to the cold weather and she would see them another time. I think also she was keen to get my nappies changed.
Despite a few minor delays (people wanting to chat) we made it back to the car and I was quickly taken from my pram and put into my carrycot in the car. My harness was clipped in and another blanket placed over me.
While Mummy and Cherie was attending to me, Charlie and Uncle Ted put my pram back in the minibus for the journey to their place. As Charlie got in to the car to drive home mummy told him of the change of plans and to drive to Ted and Molly’s home instead.
Then looking at Charlie and Cherie she pointed out that as they usually go out on a Sunday they could take the car after lunch and mummy would then get Uncle Ted to bring us home.
Upon arrival at their home Aunty Molly quickly got out of the mini bus and opened the house door and as soon as mummy had me out of my carrycot Aunty Molly quickly ushered us indoors where it was warm. Uncle Ted in the meantime had decided it would be best to place my pram in their hallway to keep it warm and dry, so he and Charlie took it from the mini bus and placed it indoors.
Meanwhile indoors Aunty Molly showed Cherie where she could prepare a bottle for me saying ‘there is plenty of milk in the fridge but I do not have any formula’.  Cherie then told her that she had two bottles already mixed and would last me until lunchtime and she would ask Charlie to fetch my formula and the honey from home for my lunchtime and afternoon bottles.
Aunty Molly then pointed out that she had found the twins old electric bottle warmer and it would only take about two minutes to warm my bottles.
From there she returned to mummy and showed her a room in which she could change my nappies.
Mummy took one step inside the room and was amazed to see it was a full girl’s nursery. Looking at Aunty Molly with a puzzled look on her face; mummy was about to ask a question when Aunty Molly said ‘It was the twins nursery and I never had the heart to take it apart after they grew up. Also the nappies over there dear are all washed dried and aired ready for use’.
Looking about mummy said ‘it must have been a squeeze getting both girls in one highchair ‘and laughed. Aunty Molly pointed out the second one was in the dining room waiting for me.
Taking me over to the changing table to change my nappies, mummy also noticed it had zinc and castor oil cream and baby powder, also a packet of baby wipes.
Enquiring about the zinc and castor oil cream Aunty Molly simply said ‘I used it for the twins and assumed you would be using it for Teresa too’.
With that mummy prepared my clean nappies and changed me.
Once I had clean nappies on and was redressed Aunty Molly said for us to go to the lounge.
Once in there yet another surprise awaited us, there on the floor was a playpen with cuddly toys in it.
Aunty Molly simply said ‘It was in the nursery and the twins supplied the toys’.
Mummy looked and smiled and thanked everyone for their efforts.
Mummy sat down but kept me in her lap for the time being as my bottle was due to arrive soon. While waiting though she did remove my harness.
The twins in the meantime had knelt in front of mummy and were fussing over me and making me giggle.
They looked at mummy and said ‘can we take Teresa for walks in her pram when the weather is fine please Aunty Carol?’
Mummy told them of course they could and laughing said ‘you will have to change her nappies too if she needs them changing’.
Both girls looked and said ‘of course’.
At this point Cherie arrived and handed mummy my bottle. The twins sat down beside mummy with a longing look in their eyes and mummy look at Rebecca and said ‘would you like to give Teresa this bottle dear?’ at which she jumped at the opportunity.
Amanda however didn’t look so pleased until mummy said ‘Teresa is having two bottles dear, you can feed her the next one’. The smile on her face said everything.
And, so it was I was laid in Rebecca’s lap and she fed me my first bottle. This was followed by Amanda feeding me my second one.
Mummy then took me from the girls and showed them how to wind me so they would know in future what to do.
A little rubbing and gentle patting on my back produced the necessary result and everyone laughed at how loud it was. Mummy then showed the girls why it is necessary to have a towel or similar on their shoulder when doing it. I had regurgitated some excess milk.
After cleaning around my mouth the girls asked if I could sit on the floor with them so they could play with me. Mummy told them it was fine but not to bounce me about so shortly after my bottles.
One of the twins asked if they could remove my mittens so I could hold things better but they were told I had poorly hands and they had to remain on.
So, the twins and I sat on the floor and the girls began playing with soft toys with me. To start with I was slow and reluctant, but after a short while I decided to join in and actually began to enjoy myself. Soon after I was laughing and giggling in my little sing song voice to every ones delight.
Charlie eventually arrived back with a tin of powdered milk and a jar of runny honey which he passed to Cherie. He also mentioned it was beginning to snow.
Uncle Ted walked in to the lounge and asked everyone if they would like a drink. Mummy, Aunty Molly and Cherie accepted a Sherry each while the twins were given a small glass of red wine; but when Charlie was asked he declined saying he wanted a clear head if the snow began to settle. He did however accept a glass of orange juice.
Aunty Molly looked at Uncle Ted and told him he doesn’t want much if he was driving us home. He said ‘I know dear’ and made himself a glass of Shandy.
A little while later Aunty Molly stood up saying it was time to check the roast and start preparing lunch.
Almost in unison Cherie and Charlie asked if they could help to which Aunty Molly told them no, it is your day off. However there was no argument when mummy followed her into the kitchen.
Charlie made a little quip about no one arguing with the boss lady.
After preparing and cooking the vegetables, making the gravy etc mummy called Charlie in and said ‘you are the expert at preparing Teresa’s meals, would you do the honours please?’ He then took a little of each vegetable; a thin slice of meat, a spoon of gravy and put it all through a blender thus making a nice smooth puree and then put it in a bowl (again from the twins nursery; this one was a Barbie bowl) and placed it on a cool surface saying all it would need if it was cold is twenty seconds in a microwave.
He then returned to the lounge.
Molly looked at mummy and said ‘he is a very handy person to have around’ at which both had a chuckle.
Lunch was eventually served and when mummy was about to sit in the chair next to my highchair Aunty Molly said ‘wrong chair Carol, this one is yours’. At which mummy said ‘I will need to feed Teresa’. Aunty Molly replied ‘THAT is my pleasure today; you sit and enjoy your lunch’.
T he twins were quick off the mark and said almost together ‘can we feed her, her bottles?’ To which mummy replied ‘Teresa only has one bottle after a meal’. And Uncle Ted quickly leapt in and said ‘AND THAT IS MY PLEASURE’. Everyone burst out laughing.
And so it was, after a fine lunch enjoyed by all. Everyone except mummy, Aunty Molly and Cherie were shooed from the kitchen and Cherie was asked to do my bottle then she was to scoot too.
As was agreed with mummy they took the car and did their own afternoon thing.
Uncle Ted lifted me from the highchair and asked Cherie to bring the bottle in the lounge.
Once again I was in those massive but gentle arms. Once again I was cradled in the arms of the first person that had cradled me upon my arrival at the farm.
He did not walk me or rock me as he did not want me to sleep before my bottle, but I could very happily have gone to sleep.
Cherie arrived with my bottle and Uncle Ted never even took a seat to feed me. He just looked at the twins and said ‘remember me doing for you girls?’ At which they shook their heads, in a no. He then told them they should as it was the way he always fed them.
When I finished my bottle he told one of the twins to fetch him a towel and place it over his shoulder and in the meanwhile he gently rubbed my back as he did before. Then lifted me to face over his should gently patted my back until I let out another mighty burp. Even mummy and Aunty Molly in kitchen heard me and laughed.
Wiping away what I have burped up from my face, Uncle Ted then cradled me in his arms once again and began to gently rock me while humming a lullaby he used to hum for the twins.
Aunty Molly looked at mummy in the kitchen and said ‘I think little Teresa will so be sound asleep’ and she was not wrong. Within a moment I was fast asleep. Uncle Ted carried me to the nursery and placed me in one of the two cots that were in the room and covered me with a blanket. Then after drawing the curtains to reduce the light, quietly drew the door almost closed and left me to sleep.
Uncle Ted then went into the kitchen and told mummy I was sleeping and that I was in the nursery.
Mummy looked at both of them and said ‘you have all gone to so much trouble I don’t really know what to say but thank you’.
They just smiled back and Uncle Ted replied ‘it is wonderful to have a baby in the house again, even if only for a few hours’.
Mummy then looked in on me and when she returned to the kitchen said to Aunty Molly ‘Phew!! I think someone will need a change when she wakes’. Then went on to asked Aunty Molly if she had a plastic bag she could have to take the dirty nappies home in. Aunty Molly replied ‘don’t be silly, I am doing a wash tomorrow I will put them through’. Mummy just said that that was very good of her.
Approximately ninety minutes later I awoke to the feel of a cold and clammy nappy and despite the short period I had lived this way I was able to cry on demand and cry to demand attention. So, in a matter of seconds I was crying my little heart out. Mummy came into the nursery swiftly followed by the twins and I was lifted from the cot to the changing table.
My dirty nappies were removed. At this point the twins noticed I was different to them in the groin area to them and soon asked mummy why. Thinking quickly mummy said I had been born with the genitals of both male and female, but the male side had not developed properly and technically I was a little girl (If only she knew how close to the truth she was).
The twins then went Awwww, poor thing it must be awful for her.
Soon my nappy was changed and mummy took me through to the lounge and placed me on the floor. Seconds later the girls arrived carrying some dolls and cuddly toys saying to mummy ‘we would like to let Teresa have these if we may Aunty Carol’.
Aunty Molly looked and said ‘but some of those are your special dolls and teddy’s girl’s’. Amanda then replied ‘but mummy, Teresa is very special too and we would like her to have them’.
This bought a tear to more than one set of eye’s and mummy thanked them very much knowing exactly what they meant.
Uncle Ted looked at mummy and Aunty Molly and said ‘these daughters of ours are wiser than they look’.
