It is a lovely story and as an author I know how nice it is to get comments - good or bad. Sometimes I incorporate a good idea or save it for a future story.
I do not remember any stories by Norm, so what makes him an expert?

Speaking for myself only, I appreciate all thoughtful comments. I certainly enjoy reading what others think, and the suggestions are OK with me.  I try to have an idea where I want the story to go, so I don’t usually change stories because of what someone else wants to see. I have on occasion gotten an idea from a comment and used it that way.

But as long as comments are delivered with thoughtfulness and kindness I appreciate them whether the commenter liked my work or not.

Glad to start the discussion, and if any of you are still feeling naughty perhaps I will send your names to the SFI ;)

Thank you Antonia and Sissyboy1212 for your comments. I have always believed that Authors appreciate comments from readers as it shows they are appreciated. Any comments I make regarding the story are my own thoughts  and not intended to influence the author. Please Sissyboy1212 don't send my name to S.F.I. I prefer the more gentle touch and promise I will be very  good from now on.
