You're anonymous, on an anonymous messageboard. If you need to spend so much time explaining to us (and yourself) why this was a bad idea, no one can meaningfully be disappointed if you simply do what you're obviously itching to do, namely deleting the entire thing, going on with your life, and pretending it never existed.

That is not how I feel about the story, Jacqueline.  I've explained the ways I do feel it was a mistake, and I genuinely thank you for the wake up call.  If you have anything else you want to say...

lauravb "at" email.com is my email.

I admit I am guilty of lurking. I am finally changing that. Contributing is one way to show my appreciation. This is LONG overdue as I have loved this site for YEARS.

Seeing this thread illustrates something that has always bothered me. Why are people so critical (and sometimes mean) to an author? I understand that some authors post stories here genuinely seeking feedback to improve their craft. If they are not asking for a critique of their writing it doesnt make sense to me to nitpick, or list all the reasons why the plot suc-ks. If you don't like the story, don't continue to read it. If they seek advice or guidance, it should delivered nicely. Isn't this common decency?

I think it is ok to get swept up and tell the author how excited you are to be be reading their story, or even say how much you'd like certain story elements to come up. For example, "I am really enjoying your story. Thank you! I love how his mother is trying to reform his behavior. I'd love to see diapers in little Timmy's future!" I imagine many authors would really like to read that sort of thing.

In general, consider the author's feelings and appreciate the fact that they are sharing their creative talent with the community. That being said, I believe it is the right/responsiblity of the moderator to comment on, or flat out remove, any content that is, or may be considered, innapropriate.

Thank you for hearing me out. Please keep in mind this is only one person's opinion.

LauraVB:

I see mostly compliments here & most really like the story. It's very popular. 6597 hits in just 4 days (at the time of this post).

Let's remind everyone who whines about this sort of thing, that this is fiction, not real. In a sense, this is a role play fantansy site for sissies & ABDLs. That means most of us want to be the victim in the fantasy. It's all role-playing fun & games -- not real. One can play they're Cleopatra with a slave in their bedroom, without really being Cleopatra & a slave, and they know quite well that it isn't who they really are.

Just like one could enjoy Star Trek & Star Wars without ever being on a space ship in space... It's sad about all those people getting killed by phazers, & space monsters, but it didn't really happen -- it's just a fantasy. If space monsters make the story more interesting, scary, or adventurous, so be it.

Are you sure you want to delete it?

It's already been archived & would be available at archive.com(or archive.org) on the wayback site in copies they make of our sites. So the story will still exist somewhere even if I do delete it from the Story board. I'm sure it's in Google cached pages by now & a couple copy-cat Russian sites too.

It's also in most of our story site's backup databases now, & all our mirror/backup sites of the page, in case we have to use them if the Story site fails, so the story will turn up again from the backup if I have to use it. If I have to restore the site from a backup database in case of a server or site failure, it will also turn up again.

Once you post a story at our story site, it may turn up again for decades because we archive & backup so much more these days. Sometimes we will lose stories or part due to a server or database error/crash, but most of the time things end up getting preserved a very long time because we currently make multiple backups on multiple servers, databases, & computers. Plus many of our users also copy & save all the stories they like.

So I can delete the story from here, but it won't be gone. It will still exist out there somewhere. If I have to switch to a backup site, or boot the a backup database after a crash or failure, the story will most likely turn up again.

I agree with Betty.  This is, after all, and at its most simplistic of all descriptions, a fantasy site.

The dictionary defines a fantasy as follows - "the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable."

That which we cannot experience in the real world is possible to be imagined here.  I am certain that there are those who feel an author went too far with some of the victim's and assailant's experiences in these stories.  At the same time, others might feel the same author didn't go far enough and must go farther.

In the end, you either enjoyed the story or you didn't.  Either way, you're right!

LauraVB, don't delete this fantastic story.  Follow your heart and enjoy the fact that you have given all of us a distraction from this COVID-19 shelter in place.  I have enjoyed your story and, unfortunately, you will get those that don't like your work.  It comes with the territory when you are a writer.  Just know that you have brought joy to a whole bunch of people.
