A few others were saying that there's a dearth of ballet stories on this site, so I figured I'd remedy that. I have a few short ballet stories like the one you see below. If people are interested, I can share them here. We'll start with Ballet's So Easy! and its sequel and then, if there's interest, maybe I'll post some other stories in this same thread since they're all pretty short and not really long enough to require their own threads. We'll see how it goes, hmm? Without further ado, I bring you... Ballet's So Easy!"What's so hard about it? You just twirl and prance around."
"It takes a lot of balance and" Daisy stopped and smirked at her brother. It had been a long-standing debate between them, whether or not her ballet classes were harder than his soccer practice. "Fine. Why don't you go ahead and show me how easy it is?" For a second, she thought Danny might just do it, but he shook his head.
"No way." Daisy smirked.
"Then admit that it's harder than soccer."
"It isn't!"
"Then show me that it's so easy. You're good at soccer, so you must be amazing at ballet." Danny sighed. "Go on. Prove it." Even though she witnessed it, Daisy could barely believe what happened next. Danny began to twirl and prance around the room, doing his best to mimic Daisy's performance at her last recital. Even in his red basketball shorts and black t-shirt, it was undeniably feminine and amazing, even as his sock-clad feet slid on the floor. His enthusiasm was almost startling. Thankfully, she had had the common sense to pull her phone out and record most of it. "Something like that," he said, panting softly. Daisy grinned.
"Well, you don't really get the feel of it unless you wear the right outfit." She showed him the video. "See? You look ridiculous."
"Delete that." All the color had drained from his face.
"I will, if you do another demonstration for me. In the proper outfit." It took them a few minutes to hash out the terms. Danny would wear the outfit Daisy gave him, but he could keep his own underwear on. She would give him $1 for every minute he stayed in the outfit, but only if he did not hide. She would delete the video and was only allowed to take a single photo, which she could never show to anyone. They shook hands and Daisy sent her brother into his room with his arms full of tights, the leotard and tutu, and even a pair of ears. It was her exact outfit from the last recital.
Daisy almost collapsed from laughing as her brother emerged from the room, the black tutu erupting out around his waist, the fluffy black straps of the leotard on his slender boyish shoulders.
"Set the timer." He said through gritted teeth.
"Alright, now demonstrate how easy ballet is, Danny Ballerina." She had to fight the urge to secretly record it as he twirled and pranced. He had a natural ballet talent, but she knew she would never be able to get him into a class.
"Can I change?" He asked.
"You've earned eight dollars already, but I still need my photo." He stood there, hands on his hips, standing in a very boyish fashion despite his outfit.
"Take it."
"Oh, no. It's gotta be special!"
"What? Why?"
"The longer it takes, the more money you make, Danielle."
"Don't call me that!"
"Come over to the stairs." She stood on one of them and demonstrated the pose. With one hand draped delicately on the banister, she put the other on her hip, raising one leg so that her foot rested on the other leg's knee. "Think you can do that? Ballet's easy after all." Danny took his position, grumbling as Daisy milked every minute getting him just right. She took the photo and grinned as she heard the sound of their parents' car in the driveway.
"I'll give you fifty dollars if you go out to greet them." She said, but he had already dashed up the stairs, tutu bouncing as he vanished into his room to get changed.
For the curious, here's the photo of Danny:
