Part 4
Christmas day was finally here. Unfortunately for Brianne, he would be spending the day in a green dance dress and tights instead of a suit! In an unexpected turn of events, so would his sister and cousins. Either way, the 4 Kelly cousins had an embarrassingly long day ahead of themselves! Jackie woke Brianne up with less enthusiasm today, in large part due to the ridiculousness of their shared outfits. The younger cousins Stacy and Kate were on the other hand, happy to slip on stripey tights and a dance dress! It had always been Stacy's dream to learn how to properly dance, and Kate was happy to share the experience with her younger cousin.
As the two Kelly sisters and their matching “daughters” left for church, Brianne sighed heavily which was matched by his older cousin Jac'. The walk down the street was surprisingly uneventful, unlike their entrance to the church. Brianne had wisely doubled up his tights at the insistence of his older cousin! Their mom's gave them all matching white sweaters, which while cute, did little to fend off the winter chill! The 4 girls were happy to be in the church if only for its warmth!
Brianne: “How long do you think this will go for?”
Jackie: “I really don't know? Mom's really into her church and I know she's going to parade us around like a circus show! Thank god we didn't have time to put a dance routine together, or we'd be doing that all day!”
Brianne: “This really suc-ks!”
Jackie: “I know!”
After what seemed like an eternity in church; The four “girls” spent the morning being picked over by every little old lady at brunch! The lady's club was over the moon for the 4 Kelly girls' cuteness! Their hopes for a dance performance were dashed but they were reassured by Sharon and Margaret that these 4 “girls” were committed to winning the next championship! Jackie was really starting to regret her aggressiveness over seeing Brian in dresses and tights! Kate and Stacy on the other hand, were full steam ahead, which didn't bode well for the 2 older cousins.
After a few mimosas, The Kelly sisters were ready to get the “girls” home. After all, they had practicing to do! Fortunately, the walk home was relatively short and the sun had somewhat made the temperature bearable. Unfortunately for the 2 older cousins, they didn't understand the full effects a few too many mimosas do on a mother! The sisters gushed over their children's outfits and behavior. Aunt Margaret insisted the “girls” focus on ballet as it was something she had always wanted to do! Stacy happily obliged and Kate was also onboard! Poor Jackie was an experienced Ballerina, but had no idea how to get Kate, Stacy, and a boy up to speed!
Once home, the Kelly sisters insisted the girls go to the tree for their presents! Brianne had little hope for any boy clothes as the gifts had obviously been changed overnight! Each “girl” was given a full, and matching ballet ensemble! The packages included a classic ballet dress, a long sleeve black leotard, and pink leather ballet slippers. In their tipsy state, the mothers insisted their “daughters” focus on ballet as often as they could! Jackie was instructed to take charge, and get the 3 younger ones up to speed! All 4 of them were to be enrolled in the prestigious local dance academy this January for a strict regiment of training!
The girls headed to their rooms to try on their respective clothes. Unfortunately for poor Brianne, the black leotard left little room for the modesty his sister told him about earlier! He was forced to resort to doubling up his tights and wearing shapewear under his new clothes! While not as comfortable as the single pair of tights his sister and cousins were wearing, he was content with blending in! His mother had also purchased him a new wig, which he was grateful for!
So became the routine for the next few weeks. Ironically as Jackie had teased Brianne earlier, tights and a leotard did in fact become the uniform of the day. The “girls” would wake up, get cleaned, and get dressed in their matching dresses or leotards. They would homeschool for a few hours and dance for the rest of the day!
Needless to say, their hard work payed off! The Kelly “girls” would go on to win first place in ballet for their academy several years in a row! From this whole experience, Jackie learned how to be a leader, she went on to college for a successful career in Medicine! Katie became a successful business-woman who calls Stacy everyday! Stacy grew up to become prima at the National Ballet!
As for Brian, He learned to love his tights. He is back to living as his assigned gender and is still close with his family. He lives a happy, quiet life reminiscing on betties about the holiday that changed everything!
